So that was 2019.

2019 was a big ‘yes’ year for me.

Scary yeses, exciting yeses, and heavy yeses. Yes, let’s do this, try this, let’s turn it up to 11, let’s wing it, let’s keep the momentum, let’s travel there. And there. And there too. Yes, I can keep going. Yes, I failed a lot. Yes, I won a lot. Yes, I pushed myself too much and got tired. Yes, I recovered and found my feet. Yes, I let my heart wander and discover. I let it laugh and feel pain. I let it grow and express itself, even when it was silly and stupid. Yes, I said needed goodbyes and made new friends. And yes, I said yes probably too much, but I learned from it, and I don’t regret it.

And yes, I want more as a result. To do more, see more, and be more.

A lot of us look at this time to “make the plan” for the future. “Starting today I’ll be that” kind of thing. I’m a victim to it, and I’ve noticed a lot of talk and little action going on. And though my list has many of checks on it and things look cool when written down (and in a video reel), there are lists and there are feelings. And I’m consciously making an effort to actually ‘do’ this time. To do for me and my soul. To stop with the ‘what-if’s and continue to say yes. Say yes when it’s right and terrifying and new. And know that nothing is immediate. Things take time. And if we allow ourselves to grow to get there, we will.
2019 was a big year from the very start to the grand finale. Lots of change, challenges, heartaches, and wins. But overall, big steps in my career and in my heart–and I can’t wait to take that into 2020 for some kickass things.

So here is my 2019 De Bex recap. It started out as picking my favorite shots from this year…but it slowly turned into a bit more of a production. Because man, I took a shit ton of pictures this last year. And with so many adventures that meant so much to me, I couldn’t box it all up on a top 10. It’s a random reel that’s a bit all over the place, but whatever, that’s just me I guess. So. Thank you to all who’ve been a part of this wild journey. Whether you’re someone I’ve photographed, family, friend, viewer, or a stumble-acrosser—You’re all amazing, and I wouldn’t be here without you. ❤️

Love,

Bex
